Writer's thoughts

My Thoughts on . . . . Transformation.

When I say transformation I’m not necessarily writing on the actual “physical” change but the “internal” change. Although the physical anatomy will often change with the process, but it’s the inward parts, the heart, the mind that I’m writing about. The first thing most people think about when mentioning transformation is always the body, the physic. Well, if it changes that’s a good thing. But I want to look at the internal parts because that’s what makes up who we are. Some of us are still carrying the mindset we had when we were younger, doing things that were self-centered, only thinking and caring for or about ourselves. That type of mindset displayed a focus on one individual only, self, and could care less about anything or anyone. That lifestyle can and will lead to some difficult consequences, and eventually a person will want to change his or her ways. Now we’re talking changing something internal, the mind, and how a person thinks. That process now involve looking at his or her heart, really discovering who they are and what it is that they want to do in life.

The transformation that takes place will be like no other process he or she has ever been through. Your thought process will change, beginning with what you allow to enter your mind. Some of us have allowed negativity, selfishness, evil and revengeful ideologies to occupy that little 3-pound blob of muscle that’s seated in our heads. We need to allow the presence of God’s Spirit to bring truth and understanding to our minds and hearts if we are to allow transformation to be real in our lives. It’s like going into something new with the old “stinkin-thinkin” concepts tagging along. We will fail in all our efforts of change or transformation. In order for true transformation to take place, the “new man” if we will, we’ll have to rid ourselves of those things that have held us back in life, which includes the previous ideologies listed, but also a change in direction and purpose in life. Our conduct must change. Our perspectives must change. Our influences must change. And with all the change, truly those that have impacted our lives in a negative way must also change. So transformation in part, will involve a process that at the end of it all, we will appear different, we will not be the same as we were when we first started. We will become new, something that is unlike the previous person we are trying to change. Many of us desire change and transformation but don’t know how to proceed and be successful in that. Therefore, surrounding ourselves with those who have been through that process will help us understand what it will take to get there if in fact that’s what we desire. The struggle? It’s between the beginning and the ending. Everything we do during the process will determine our outcome.

“This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness,to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

EPHESIANS   4:17-24

Just some thoughts about transformation and change, being genuine and real for my Christian brothers and sisters for edification from a writer who wants to see honesty and transparency illuminate in their lives. Just saying . . . .
