Read Your Word This Morning?

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 29, 2016

Breakfast of ChampionsThis morning when you’re reading your Word, seeking God’s divine wisdom and purpose for your day, ask God to display in you the Fruits of the Spirit to manifest in you and through you while you’re going through your day. Despite what you may have before you on your work agenda, ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you with these fruits to bring a change of environment; a change in direction for someone with an attitude moment; or a change in the heart of someone who is about to do something that isn’t right or that is selfish. Then pray that God will receive the glory from it.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”  –  GALATIANS   5:22, 23

My Daily Devotion

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 29, 2016

Devotions“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”  –  EPHESIANS  6:10-18

Today’s Point of Focus:

Always prepare yourself spiritually and consciously by putting on God’s Armor everyday He gives you life.

An Encouraging Quote

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 28, 2016

C. S. Lewis“In the same way a Christian is not a man who never goes wrong, but a man is enabled to repent and pick himself up and begin over again after each stumble–because the Christ-life is inside him, repairing him all the time, enabling him to repeat (in some degree) the kind of voluntary death which Christ Himself carried out.”

My Daily Devotion

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 28, 2016

“For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that Devotionstheir hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”  –  COLOSSIANS  2:1-10

Today’s Point of Focus:

Be confident in knowing Christ as Savior, His love, His grace, and allow God to protect you from vain deceit.

An Encouraging Quote

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 27, 2016

charles spurgeon“Why are we not one? Sin is the great dividing element. The perfectly holy would be perfectly united. The more saintly men are, the more they love their Lord and one another; and thus they come into closer union with each other. Our errors and our sins are roots of bitterness which spring up and trouble us, and many are defiled. Our  infirmities of judgment are aggravated by our imperfections of character, and our walking at a distance from our God; and these breed coldness and Luke warmness, out of which grow disunion and division, sects and heresies.”

Read Your Word This Morning?

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 27, 2016

Breakfast of ChampionsHas God been good to you last week? Did He keep you from hurt, harm and danger throughout all that you experienced in life this past week? Did he keep you safe on the roads as you and your loved one travel these dangerous and treacherous roads of life? Whether you want to admit it or not, God did just that and probably more. It’s all the most assured that we ought to be thankful, grateful, and that He loves us so much that He goes far above and beyond anything we could ever ask or think of when it comes to this life. We realize that daily as we get into His Word everyday He gives us life. We can learn what God wants from us as His greatest creation, the apple of His eye, and He feels rewarded when we acknowledge Him in all our ways. Take some time out today and read His Word, The Bible. See what the Creator of the Universe wants you to do for Him. Amazing thought right, the One who created everything we see has something He wants us to do. Imagine that! But He does, and that makes Him so happy!!

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.”

My Daily Devotion

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 27, 2016

Devotions“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”   –   ROMANS  3:21-26

Today’s Point of Focus:

For we all have sinned and fallen short, but God is our justifier and redeemer.

My Daily Devotion

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 26, 2016

“Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, “Tell us, when will these Devotionsthings be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditated what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”  –   MARK   13:3-13

Today’s Point of Focus:

When you see the signs of the times, be comforted in knowing God is already preparing His people.

Read Your Word This Morning?

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 25, 2016

Breakfast of ChampionsIf you’re the one who has time before he or she goes to work this morning to sit, read, even study and meditate in God’s Word, always remember that God desires us to know Him with all of our heart. Yeah, He wants us to go out into our world and be a living, Holy sacrifice for His glory. But He also desires us to really study the scriptures and know Him beyond a shadow of a doubt. Reading His Word, then applying it to our lives is what God wants when we take in His instruction, being led by the Holy Spirit, then being a light unto our world. When we know the Jesus we know the truth. And when we know the truth, we are free indeed.

“Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”  –  JOHN  8:31, 32 (The Message Bible)

Recovery Tip For This Week

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 25, 2016

Road_RecoveryRecovery Tip for this week . . . .

Put The Armor of God on Daily!

Every day in recovery is a struggle. A struggle to adhere to doing what’s required of you; a struggle to stay committed to the tasks of remaining faithful and true; and the struggle for the obvious-just doing the right thing! With all of that going on and knowing that we’ll be ever so tempted to fall back into past behaviors, we need to understand that this battle we’re in and its daily fighting requires some preparation on our parts. That’s why we need to put on the Armor of God daily. Each piece of armor has significant strategy purposes for defensive maneuvering and preparation. There is no way we can actively go through life unprotected from the wiles and devices of the enemy with it. We absolutely need God’s protection daily because we will fail and fall. So take a look at what God’s Armor is and will do.
