Tip for this week . . . . Commit to Daily Prayer.

If there is anything we need to commit to on a daily basis is prayer. In recovery, we need to commune with God daily and regularly without fail. We have so much to do, so much that is being asked of us and we can’t do it all in our own strength. We’ll get tired, bored, and start looking for relief of some sort and that usually means we’ll fall right back into our mess. In fact, having a commitment to daily prayer will not only strengthen our desires for purpose, it will also help us remain focus on the tasks at hand because God’s protection won’t allow us to go astray unless we choose to go astray. We can choose to pray alone or call a brother up and ask him to pray with you and for you. We can never have enough prayer, or praying for others, as well as ourselves. If you have started praying daily, it’s not too late to incorporate prayer into your recovery and your personal life. I really can’t see how we can do recovery, let alone life, without it!

“I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.”  –  PSALM  17:6
