Recovery Tip For This Week

boundaries-1

Tip for this week . . . . Having Boundaries.

Having boundaries in recovery is essential to the consistent success we are striving for in this journey. Boundaries help us keep mentally tough, protects us from those who might interfere with our purpose or intentions, and they certainly provide those who support us with understanding our focus and perspectives, and what we are actually doing in recovery. Boundaries are a must to every person in recovery. In today’s culture, it’s very difficult to concentrate or focus on doing the right things when doing the wrong things is the norm. We in recovery are singled out as outcasts, as strange or weird, but little do they know or understand that we are the ones who do not have a distorted perspective anymore. We’re changing that perspective and seeking God’s understanding  and wisdom in doing life His way, the right way. So I encourage you to consider work on setting up some boundaries for yourselves, putting things in place to protect yourself, to keep others honest in their intentions, as well as keeping you honest in yours.

“When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.”  –  Deuteronomy  32:8

Read Your Word This Morning?

Posted by Men of Redemption on May 16, 2016

Breakfast of ChampionsWhat are you looking for today when you read your Word? Before you begin to read God’s Word, ask yourself some questions like . . . . “God, what is it that you want me to know or understand today? . . . . Is there something special or in particular Lord God that you want me to do or to carry out? . . . . Lord, what is my purpose for this day, your desire for me? . . . . Father God, is there someone who I can help further their purpose or assignment by sharing your Word?” These are just a few questions we ought to consider as we read His Word daily. Understand this fact-It’s not about us, it’s about the Kingdom of God and God Himself. We should want to get to know our Heavenly Father, who He is, and what it is that He wants to do in us and through us for His purpose. Then our purpose will be fulfilled, and He will in turn glorify Himself in us through our lives. It’s an amazing thing to see God’s glory in His people! Get into that Word and come alive in Him!

My Daily Devotion

Posted by Men of Redemption on May 16, 2016

Devotions“Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and accused the Jews. They spoke and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “O king, live forever!  You, O king, have made a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the gold image; and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego; these men, O king, have not paid due regard to you. They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up. “Then Nebuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. So they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up?  Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”  –   DANIEL  3:8-18

Today’s Point of Focus:

Make a stand for righteousness, and be not dismayed by what’s around you. Let righteousness reign in your life!
