Tip for this week . . . .

Take it One Day at a Time

Okay, you’re doing really well in your recovery. You’re excited about the leaps and bounds you’ve taken, and recovery is getting easier and easier as you put more into it. That sounds good, and is pleasing to the ears. But realize one thing – on relapse can set you back mentally, emotionally and spiritually all the way back to your first day in recovery. So to keep our recovery in perspective, take recovery one at a time. Yeah, we can celebrate the daily victories and how far we’ve come. But let’s not rest on those laurels. Recovery is a process that has no limitations because there is no end. We’ll never arrive in true freedom until Christ returns, then there’s true freedom. What we want to do commit ourselves to maintaining a lifestyle of secured purity living where Jesus Christ is at the center of all we do. His Holy Spirit will give us direction, guidance and peace to remain focused on our recovery without overdoing it in celebration and excitement. At the end of each day, thank God for all the victories He allowed you to overcome, and praise Him for His guidance through it all. Then pray and ask Him to guide you and establish your steps for the next day should we be blessed to see it. This will keep our hearts, minds and focus on successful recovery and not trying to get to the end of it all. Jesus is coming, rest in that.
