Restoring a Life of Purity – One Day at a Time

Read Your Word This Morning?

Breakfast of ChampionsHave you ever come across a passage of scripture during your reading of God’s Word that really astounds you? I mean, after that particular text you find yourself saying ” Wow, that was really something!” Well, during my reading sessions I find that happening often, actually to the point of expectancy. I have discovered in the reading of God’s Word that that’s the way our heavenly Father operates. He does things with such precision and movement that we have to say “Look at God!” I’ve grown to learn and understand that His ways are so far above our ways and His thoughts are so intelligent that it’ll baffle us just thinking how He does what He does. That’s why He is whom He says He is-He is the Sovereign Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ! Those of us who are familiar with His character we come to expect those divine actions from Him all the time. There is no one like Him! I’m reminded of the story where Jesus is in the boat with the disciples with the sea raging with fierce winds and turbulence. The disciples were scared for their lives and are wondering what will Jesus do in this situation. But then Jesus just stood up amid the storm and said “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” He then rebuked the wind and the sea and they became calm. Just like that! Who is He that every the winds and the seas obey him? That my friends, is The One and only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, the God that I serve and worship today, yesterday and forevermore!

“Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”  –  Matthew  8:23-27
