Restoring a Life of Purity – One Day at a Time

Read Your Word This Morning?

Posted by Men of Redemption on December 13, 2016

Breakfast of ChampionsReading God’s Word will build wisdom and understanding in our lives as we commit to daily reading, being guided by His Holy Spirit. This brings comfort to our hearts knowing that His Word is living and breathing inside of us. When we share that Word it gives life to others should they receive that Word. But we have to understand that not everyone is receptive to receiving God’s Word. Regardless of their reasoning, we need to know that the hearts of many have been persuaded by the world’s influence of “self” that no one can tell them anything about what God says or His Word. Remember something, God’s own people, Israel, had that same mentality when they crossed over the Red Sea and began the wilderness journey. They’re journey was to get to the Promised Land which was only supposed to take 11 days but took 40 years. Why? Because once they crossed the Red Sea, they wanted what was promised to them immediately, not in 11 days let alone 40 years. Moses tried to share what thus saith the Lord but they were so focused on getting to where they were going that they didn’t stop to receive God’s instruction, His Word, along the way. Thus, the Israelites continued in their own wayward living and disregarded God’s instruction for preparation to enter the Promised Land. We still have people like the Israelites walking through life today, and they still have that same mentality. So what do we do to get the Word out? We live out loud. If they won’t receive His Word verbally, let your life, your actions, your countenance amplify the character and grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and what He has done in your life. I heard a pastor say this years ago . . . .

“Stop walking so loud I can’t hear what you’re saying!”
