Restoring a Life of Purity – One Day at a Time

Read Your Word This Morning?

Posted by Men of Redemption on December 23, 2016

Breakfast of ChampionsGod’s Word is filled with so much power and authority that as I read His Word I see His glory in every story, every situation and I can’t help but be in awe of His righteousness. He is Holy, and there is none like Him. But I ask you this question: Whom do you say God is? It’s easy to say that He is God who is in heaven; He is the one who knows all things and does all things; and He is the Creator of the Universe and Life. Those are all right and true statements, but whom do YOU say He is? When we’re faced with answering that question in the midst of unfamiliar environments, or when we least expect someone who challenges us with such a question unexpectedly. How do you really answer that question and give clear, sound foundational evidence that what you’re preparing to say is going to make the difference in possibly their decision to accept Him or reject Him? That’s why reading His Word daily prepares us and equips us to be ready in season and out of season to answer such questions that challenge or beliefs. One disciple had such a question posed to him and he answered the Lord God, Jesus Christ, with conviction and intentionality (Matt. 16:13-16). Peter knew who Jesus was, and he didn’t have to think about it. How about you? Are you comfortable enough in your relationship with the Lord to make a stand and proclaim in any situation at any time, boldly-Whom do you say that He is? It’s something we ought to think about and prepare for because there will come a time when we may have to stand before authorities and give an answer for our faith. Are you prepared?

“When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”  –  Matthew 16:13-17
