WHAT GOD’S WORD SAYS ABOUT IT! – WORDS OF WISDOM

WHAT GOD’S WORD SAYS ABOUT . . . .

ALL HAVE SINNED

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL READING . . . .

Posted by Men of Redemption on April 1, 2019

OUR PASSAGE COMES FROM:

PHILIPPIANS 4:10-13 . . . .

“But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

RECOVERY REFLECTION: It took me some time to learn to be content in my recovery. After all, my recovery required me to change a lot of things, modify and eradicate habits and unnecessary relationships. So the challenge for me was getting to a place where I was moving, going forward with some consistency. Then maintaining that effort by acknowledging where I’m at, and knowing that the road is narrow but steady, and that if I’m going to have any success I must remain on that road at all times. Not concentrating on needs and wants but knowing that this journey will be long and being thankful I’m not back where I used to be. I learned to be happy in the good times and comforted during the struggles no matter what they might be.
