Today, I Will Trust God To . . . .

Posted by Men of Redemption on August 10, 2017

For this day, Lord God, I pray and ask that you heavenly Father strengthen me to speak with the wisdom and grace of your Word so that others will see You O God in me and not myself; that encouragement and edification would be received and understood by those whom I speak them to. Instill in me Lord God, a peaceful and contrite spirit, where love, joy, longsuffering and kindness rests upon the walls of my heart; Teach Heavenly Father how to know humility, to love one another as you have loved and continue to love me. Let your peace reign within me that what comes out of me will bring hope and lead them to you O God.

“The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.”  –  Proverbs 18:4

Facing Adversity . . . . David

As I look at life on a daily basis I can see how so many people, including myself, are facing adversity constantly in so many areas of our lives. The confrontations of who’s right and who’s wrong; people in authority telling us we’ll never mount up to anything because we lack the necessary qualifications or credentials to succeed in that particular industry; those that we allow to defuse our dreams and aspirations of becoming someone. All of these statements and a lot more have overwhelmed so many of us and it’s the very reason why a lot of us aren’t pursuing opportunities for advancement in our careers. Our self-esteem has been shot by those very statements and a lot of us can’t rebound from that. There’s a lot we can learn from David in the Word of God, the Bible, regarding this very same situation. David was a humble young boy, a sheep herder by trade and not one of your more attractive careers(can anyone relate). But that didn’t stop David. When he went up against Goliath, he was overmatched; he didn’t have the skills or the credentials to go up against someone who was 10-times his size. Even the King (Saul) thought he was out of his mind to go against such a giant. But David stood the course. He trusted in the God that he served because he knew God had his back. He didn’t listen to those who told him he’s crazy and he’ll never defeat that giant. He was determined in his mind and in his heart to defeat Goliath and not allow those who didn’t believe in him keep him from victory. I strongly believe that if we take that same determination, trust whole-heartedly in the very God that created you and me, and go forward in faith, God will strengthen us to victory in every situation and we will overcome. We won’t have to accept the statements of lack in experience or qualifications. We can trust God to qualify us by His standards which supersedes man’s standards. God will put you, us, in position to succeed in anything we put or place our hands, hearts or minds to, in Jesus’ Name!

Just a writer sharing his thoughts, and I’m just saying . . . .

A Quote of Encouragement

Posted by Men of Redemption on July 9, 2015

“Get into the habit of dealing with God about everything. Unless in the first waking moment of the day you learn to fling the door wide back and let God in, you will work on a wrong level all day; but swing the door wide open and pray to your Father in secret, and every public thing will be stamped with the presence of God.”

Oswald Chambers, on Prayer
