.  .  .  TO FEAR YOU O GOD BECAUSE YOU ARE ALMIGHTY GOD!

This day, heavenly Father God, help me to know that you are the Almighty God, Lord and Savior, King of kings; I trust you Lord God to show yourself in your magnificence and majesty, and all of your wonder; let the fear of your glory and presence resonate in my heart that I may know you personally Father God. Speak to my spirit man that I might be captivated  by your awesome power and glory; I trust you dear God that my family would fear you Lord God because of who you are-the Omnipotent One, the Omnipresent One, and the Omniscient One. You are worthy O God of all the praise, all the glory, and all the honor.

“Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, And his descendants shall inherit the earth. The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.”  –  Psalm 25:12-15

A Psalm of Praise . . . .

praiseTHE PERFECT REVELATION OF THE LORD

“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

DevotionalTHE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE

“The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction,
To perceive the words of understanding, To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion—A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.”  –  PROVERBS 1:1-7

living before GodLIVING IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD

“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”  –  1 PETER 1:13-21

Power Punch with Proverbs

Power Punch

PROVERBS 1:24-33

“Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, because you disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, When your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, they would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.”

OUCH! God isn’t playing when we act in rebellion and/or sin against His wishes. Even though we have free choice, many of us have neglected to adhere to His commands and statutes, therefore giving God the understanding that we have made our choice to follow our own choices. So may of us don’t like to receive God’s rebuke because we always want to see and receive His grace in all things. But we still have sin and rebellion, even in the body of Christ, and with that behavior still, the consequences of those choice must be rendered. Yes, Jesus paid for our sins, but sin and rebellion isn’t a license to sin and then turn to the Cross. Many of us get in the habit of sin six days in the week then, on Sunday, line up at the alter and want to repent. That’s not being a follower of Christ. We’re either going to follow Him all the way or not at all. God tells us in these verses what will happen to those in disobedience.
